Frequently asked questions

Can I take TCM herbs while undergoing Traditional Acupuncture Treatment?

For a wide variety of conditions (not limited to the ones listed above), Traditional Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Therapy (TCM) provide the best results when combined together. Please note that the effects of TCM and Traditional Acupuncture will vary by individual; as treatment will always depend on the individual’s own body constitution.

How long will my treatment regimen be?

For acute or recent problems, the time needed to resolve your health concern will be less than a chronic problem. For example, if you have had a problem for 10 years, it will take many months or longer to resolve the problem. Some people will react to the herbs more than others. Typically you want to take them for 3-6 months. You will see progress along the way.

I heard that TCM herbs taste bad. Is that true?

Some herbs do not have a great taste, but they work well at treating a variety of conditions. At the beginning the body is still getting used to it, so the taste may not be to everyone’s liking, but by the fourth day, it will become more tolerable. Many patients even say they enjoy the taste. The most important part is getting results.
